Red Handed was a great book. Way too short for me. Like usual, Gena did not disappoint me. It wasn’t her best book but I loved it nonetheless! I haven’t read the Alien Huntress series but I will, for sure.

Phoenix was a strong heroine, former drug addict. She’s only 17 but you can see that she already lived some pretty bad shit. I really liked her, like I said, she was strong-willed, caring, witty… I loved Ryan. Gena knows how to make you swoon. It’s a pretty short book but Ryan was worth it. He’s hot, strong annnnnd forbidden.

They have a nice relationship, it’s a YA book so we don’t see much but still! Unfortunately, I thought that everything was going way too fast, I would have loved Red Handed even more if it had been longer. Because all the scenes were fast… The other characters were cool too. Kitten, Mia, Kadar, Allisson, Bradley, Erik and the other girls from Phoenix’s class. The storyline wasn’t that great, I mean, I loved the book itself because of Phoenix and Ryan but beside that it wasn’t really well developed.

Anyway, it was still a good book. I’m really excited to read Erik’s story and the Alien Huntress series (we see some characters from those books in this one actually!)

Ages 14+ (sex, drug use)

Former Onadyn addict Phoenix finds herself at a party that's invaded by aliens, and when she comes home her mom is convinced she's been using again. Forcibly taken from her school, Phoenix assumes she's being sent back to rehab. Instead she's been recruited into an academy for A.I.R. agents - the deadly force that protects New Chicago from the threat of predatory aliens. She can stay clean, sure, but can she stay away from sexy Ryan, the instructor who saved her life at that party? Fluffy but entertaining, may appeal to fans of the Uglies series.

I received this book as a gift from someone who normally reads her adult novels and I was really excited to read it. And I was pleased with what I read when I finished it. Normally I would be wary about a book about aliens and alien hunters but this one was delivered in such a humorous and sexy way that it seemed totally normal that I would be reading about oxygen sucking aliens.
The heroine of this story is so easy to love and she's written so well that you can relate to her, and our obvious hot guy of the story is just perfect for a young adult novel.
I would suggest this book to anyone looking for a fast read that's fast paced, action-packed, and sexy.

I LOVED this book!!! I finished it in two hours because I just couldn't stop reading it. It was my first book by Gena Showalter and I fell in love with the characters, especially Phoenix (such a strong girl, I liked her from the beginning!) and the idea of a future world where we coexist with different kinds of aliens. So again, I just loved it!

Oh, such a great book, I'd forgotten the majority of the plot, but yeah, so freaking good!

*First read July 6th 2012*
Oh, great book, great tensions, can't wait to read more, and I hope the next one has a bit with the kids that Mia is looking for, since it hasn't been mentioned in the adult series since the first book. Yep.

The 1st book in the Teen Alien Huntress series. Phoenix is a recovering drug addict. She goes to a party with her friends, but the party turns into a nightmare when a group of aliens attack the group. She's brought home in what seems to be a drug induced haze and her mother sends her to a boot camp for troubled teens which turns out to be a recruitment center for A.I.R., Alien Investigation and Removal agency. Does she have what it takes to hunt down dangerous aliens and protect the planet?
