I went in thinking this was going to be similar to Twilight but I was 100% wrong. It is nothing like it. I really like Rose. I am patiently waiting for my hold on book two to be available. I’m now ready for the show that comes out in September.

Dimitri Dimitri Dimitri. drooool. Russian accents just do it for me. They make me want to roll on the floor and dance all around my room. Dimitri's immovable attitude and constant strength is just too hot for. He is part of my I-wish-He-were-mine characters. sigh

Anywayssss I loved Vampire Academy. Although sometimes Rose would act rather stupidly- she is only a teenager- it was still amazingly fun to read!! i really hope Lisa doesn't go crazy because i love her personality. And Christian and her are SOOO cuteee <3 <3

Must go now and read the next :)

Very nice, quick read. The series was eerily similar to the Covenant series, and as I read that one first, VA didn't really stay in my mind. Rose was a refreshing change from pathetic protagonists like Isabella Swan, Nora Grey, Luce, Ever, Julia Philips, Clary Fray and the like. I also like that she was motivated by loyalty unlike other YA heroines. Yes she was vain at times, conceited even, but a girl who understands the significance of her beauty itself is rare, at least in YA. It was better than the others who sniffled around saying 'OMG! I'm so ugly! How does he like me? He must be so noble!', which is trending in YA nowadays. I would have rated it higher, but the premise was so similar to Covenant that it was hardly surprising, and while I know Covenant was probably 'borrowed' from VA, I read that one first. But not to worry I'm removing a star from the Covenant series as well. Christian was a very nice change many YA heroes. Dimitri, well, he was a God. Unattainable and completely crush worthy, Dimitri surpassed many of my favorite heroes. 3.5 stars.
