I’ve always loved Captain Underpants but recently got reacquainted with him in my adult years. I have had a black and white British copy of The Adventures of Captain Underpants and this full-color version was a marvel. I loved the coloring and details and the new Dog-Man comic was a blast. The story about Dav’s childhood was an added bonus.

I'm coming around to Dav Pilkey. I remember seeing the Captain Underpants Stories and thinking "Ew!", but, just like Dog Man, there's more that lies beneath the surface. I especially love his story from being in second grade and making comics even though his teacher discouraged him.
I first read this book back when it first came out and I was just learning to read- I remember thinking it was hilarious. Reading it again, as an adult, it definitely was hilarious. What a great book for kids who enjoy humor to learn to read on.
