When i first started this book i was so excited, i had read the prequel and thought this book was going to eat up, spoiler: it didn’t. You know when youre watching a car crash and it’s just so bad but you cant look away? That was this book.

There were so many things wrong with this book but i think the main problem was that the fmc was just not the girl for this book, it just felt like up until the end she didn’t like the mmc, which in real life would make sense and be justifiable, but in a mafia romance book it was very frustrating.

Alot of crazy thing happened in this book including but not limited too:
-her step brother fucking her
-her step dad trying to get with her
-her step brother getting her pregnant while sleeping with her while she was sleeping
-the stepbrother and his dad getting into a physical fight over her (no this was not a love triangle and her mom was very much still with the step dad)

im not even going to lie i love the mmc, hes just my type of mafia/dark romance man but him and the girl just didn’t go together that well, in the end they did get married and have the baby but this book could have been so much better, it will be reading the next one tho

Truly Spectacular! I will not give a review with spoilers as that just isn't who I am. But this book, yall! I devoured it in less than 24 hours. The character development was PHENOMENAL. The spice had me zoned into the pages. The twists and turns had me on the edge of my chair the entire time. Little Love got her Happy Ever After, and Xav got his true love. This is hands down one of the best books I have read this year! Please be aware of Trigger Warnings as they're important, this is a Dark Bully Romance, but it is absolutely worth the read!!!!! The Auther did an amazing job writing it.

🥴 This was weird and not what I wanted and yes I did finish the whole book but only bc I’m no quitter.
The mom (who Kaye frequently referred to by her first name for some reason?) is really gonna just end up with her ex’s son/her son-in-law’s half-brother?? Big ick!
Also while I am a fan of dubcon in fiction, thiiiiis one kind of crossed over that line and into something more uncomfy and it like wasn’t really a big deal to any of them….

After reading prequel I was a bit skeptical as Xavier is a lot at first but the more I read into the book and saw how he changes he started to grow on me.
The only thing that I had to get used to was mother and father being mentioned as names when addressed which was a bit weird at first but then I stopped noticing it.

Overall as a debut it's a good book.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Cruel Intentions (Book 1 of Blackmore University) by Cora Kent is a dark college romance. I knew I was going to enjoy this book from the first chapter. Step sibling books always make you think twice when you are reading because even though it is ok it just seems wrong, always making the book zestier. The chemistry and emotions between Xavier and Kaye is next level. The plot was typical of this story line with different twist and turns along the way.
Cora Kent did a great job with this trope and characters. Definitely check your TWs. I can not wait to continue to read more in book 2.

Kaye and Xavier’s tension from the beginning was enough to pull me in. Step siblings is definitely taboo yet I was intrigued🥴 I’m not sure about the relationship in real life being a thing but I was all for it in this world Cora created😂 The men in this family really struck all the nerves for me. The way the dad treated women pissed me off to the core, but also explained why his son was the way he was. There were moments I cringed with Malcolm and the things he would say. All I can say without saying spoilers is he is a true pig and asshole. I appreciated the growth Xavier displayed with his character throughout the story. By the end of the book my thoughts were simply things in life don’t happen to you but for you!❤️‍🔥
