Dragon Age : Asunder by David Gaider 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 
I have a physical copy I bought during the release year but reading this I don't think I ever finished it. About halfway through I realized I remembered none of it! 
I remember thinking Cole would have a bigger role in Inquisition and finding his character interesting. Also finding out the further adventures of Wynne, Shale and a brief glimpse at Leliana was more along the lines of what I expected. 
The mention of a Conclave threw me off for awhile mainly because I didn't realize there was more than the one in the intro of Inquisition. 
As I don't play a mage during my playthroughs a more in-depth look at their struggles and what they have to deal with in the Circles was both saddening and enlightening info for the games.

Only here for Shale content if I’m being honest. 
The best of Gaiders writing without question, yet still bogged down by his fallbacks, including the most heterosexual romance imaginable.
It is interesting to have more time with the mage/templar conflict, but disappointing to see the same exact viewpoints we’ve gotten for three games. BioWares greatest flaw is reducing a continent wide conflict to liberal/centrist/conservative stocked with cartoon heros and villains. Perhaps Rhys’ incredible amounts of head trauma led to his brave decision to adopt centrism in the end.
