I will be thinking about this book for a long time. so well written and suspenseful while still being ultimately a beautiful and heart-wrenching book about love and grief. some magical realism & a little of the eldritch in there as well. I absolutely get why so many people have recommended this book to me now

This book is mostly mystery and vibes, but it is a love letter to the depths of the ocean, it is unsettling romantic and filled with a strange kind of grief. I enjoyed it and was glad I read most of it by the sea.

This is a tough book to rate, I would not be able to say I enjoyed reading this but it is haunting and beautiful and tragic. The grief explored in this beautiful book I think would be relatable to a lot of people who lose someone and also not lose them at the same time. This is a really hard read and I’m glad I read it, but I’m also not sure who I would recommend this book to.

I wasn't planning on listening to the audio book, but I found this to be one of the best I've heard. The narrators' voices really bring the poetry of the words to life. I couldn't stop listening. Though I'm sure I'd be gripped equally by reading the words. Everything is so beautifully told even when it's sad or cruel or disgusting. As a Pisces sun, this ticked a lot of boxes for me. Lovely.
