This was really good! Maria and Rintarou are solid characters and are already proving to be a cute (future) couple. Rintarou himself is a character, equal parts caring and mischievous, and while that's not a particularly original personality combo Maria plays off of that really well. Maria herself was a bit repetitive in her inner monologues, but given her situation it was warranted and didn't bother me too much. The only complaint I have is the art can be a bit stiff in certain places, but when it shines it really shines.

A really solid first volume, I highly recommend for anyone looking for a cute historical romance!

El concepto es diferente a lo usual, llama bastante la atención, pero la manera en la que se desarrolla la historia durante este primer tomo es cliché y predecible.

Pretty good first volume. Her inner monologue is a bit repetitive but the plot is very clear

Surprisingly enjoyable. It's weird that the love interest suddenly changes from teasing Maria to being into her as soon as he realizes she's beautiful. He seems shallow, but he's brave and kind. But since the premise of the story is that everyone mistreats Maria because she looks Western, him accepting and liking how she looks is pretty relevant.
