My respect for Adam is out the window. The day before he would have put his life on the line for Juliette and now he’s questioning if she’s worth dying for smh 🤦🏻‍♀️ Not that the book is bad I just dislike Adam

The writing of this novella was fabulous, but honestly, I just have a strong dislike for Adam. You don’t know how many times I rolled my eyes reading this. Obviously Adam only sees Juliette as a damsel in distress who has no idea how to handle herself. The girl’s touch is literally lethal. Adam’s character in this novella also seems really different than it was in the second book? <slight spoiler> He was like a lovesick mopey puppy in “Unravel Me,” but suddenly Juliette is no longer his first priority? I don’t know something just didn’t add up, and I know Adam cares about his brother, but I just think he’d have a harder time choosing between James and Juliette than he did. <end spoiler>

Overall, I kind of struggled how to rate this because the emotion portrayed was moving and craft was wonderful, Adam’s pov just fell extremely short for me.

This novella further enforced exactly why I’m Team Warner. Adam looks at Juliette like a fragile China doll and desperately wishes away her power. Warner wants her to embrace her power, sees her faults and mistakes, yet still loves her and her power.

The POV from Adam really made me realize the way he sees Juliette and it did not make me happy.
He thinks lowly of her and has no faith. It really showed that the depths of their relationship was him depending on her and Adam seeing her as weak. It also showed that Kenji cares for Juliette more that Adam does and my dislike for Adam definitely starting increasing.
That wasn’t too much of a spoiler just going in depth about the first statement.

The  first 3/4 of this book was so boring to me since so much of it is scenes from Unravel Me with the same exact dialogue  only with the addition of Adam’s thoughts.

It seems that the author decided to make Adam super condescending and ignorant which I expected because now Warner is the main love interest but the extent to which the author made Adam unlikable was a bit overdone and out-of-character for him. The only good thing about Adam in this book was his love for James.
