Ok, so this book is a little...interesting to me. I totally was thrown for a loop with the pregnancy thing. 100% did not see that coming. Was a bit out of left field for me, but overall I enjoyed the story and the character development for all the main characters.

This book simply did not compare to the other three. I think the series could’ve ended after the third book and this was just unnecessary. I did like the beginning honeymoon scenes but oh well.

There's no character growth, Bella keeps forgiving unforgivable behavior, and she's so whiny.

The one star I'm giving this book is for lack of coherency, bad pacing of the plot, dropping the ball when it comes to dramatic tension, poor characterization and so on. A lot of this are things I expected after having read the other books in the Twilight series as this book suffers from many of the same faults as they did.

Spoilers from this point:
I'm not going to touch the pregnancy and birthing sequence - I'm sure other reviewers will. I would have tolerated it better if the book had delivered in other parts. I can't describe my disappointment that the opportunity to infuse the book with drama and tension when Bella turned into a vampire was missed by skipping over her ever finding much thirst after human blood. Greater still was my disappointment that the Volturi travelled all the way from Italy and there was hardly a hint of an epic vampire battle. Such a pity since the single best moment in the series was when Edward decapitated Victoria in Eclipse.

This book gets one star for missing the boat repeatedly. And yes, Jacob imprinting on Renesmee was creepy. So there.
