Won't blow you away or anything, but it's cute and very heartfelt. Andrew's confusion about the concept of Pokemon is particularly hilarious.

Being stuck inside these days, Andrew took me on a fun journey from Omaha to Broadway! His vibe of telling stories with friends over drinks was just what I needed right now.

I enjoyed this but just FYI it ends on the night of his Broadway debut as an ensemble member in Hairspray. There’s nothing about Book of Mormon or Girls which was a little disappointing. Still worth reading but I wish I would have known that going in. I hope he writes another book.

Ugh! I want MORE! Please Mr. Rannells, please write another memoir that covers your Broadway career AND Girls AND The New Normal. I know you have so many good stories to tell about the next phase of your life!

I loved this memoir. I listened to it on audio, read by Andrew Rannells himself and honestly, that's the best way to enjoy it. His "reading" sounds like he is in the room with you telling you all these funny, relatable, and honest stories about his growing up in Omaha, his big move to New York, his struggle as an actor trying to make it to Broadway, his love for his friends and family, and some of his more interesting intimate relationships. I laughed out loud often. I cried once or twice. I enjoyed every second of it.

I was left wanting more.

Actor Andrew Rannel's memoir will have you cracking up. He recounts moving from Nebraska to New York in such a way that that you'll be as perplexed as he is when he encounters rude people, subways and even how one orders coffee in NYC. He writes about his relationships, past and current and yes, he is as good an author as he is a singer. He sings. He dances. He does dinner theatre! And he still loves the Midwest. Loved his mother Charlotte...

I read an advance copy and was not compensated.
emotional funny lighthearted sad fast-paced

Thoroughly enjoyable, honest look at what shaped Rannells leading up to his success, which is barely touched upon in this book (if at all). Fumbling toward success is really an apt way of putting it. I appreciated the frank way he addressed sex and sexuality, and it felt refreshing. I’d suggest the audiobook for this one.
