SNOOOOOZE. This probably deserves 3 stars but I'm pretty shocked at how boring this was considering Rannells did the audiobook and I KNOW he can be funny. So, two stars!

As an actor and a kid who grew up acting, of course I loved this.
I SUPER love that the book doesn't delve into the shows he's famous for. I just find it so cool and respectable that instead of being like "this is what the people want," he told his candid pre-famous, gritty, coming-of-age story. I love that! Go Andrew Rannells!
He's funny, he's real, and he makes you feel like you're his actual close friend. Thank you, Andrew Rannells, for sharing your story!

There’s nothing especially revelatory in this book, but Rannells is a decent writer (and a great narrator) whose coming-of-age story is universal enough to be enjoyed by plenty of people. Definitely listen to the audiobook!
I enjoy memoirs and memoirs of those in show business. Andrew Rannells from Omaha Nebraska leaves home for college in NYC, abandons that when the money runs out and takes jobs, some more exciting than others until he finally gets his break at age 26 - which is where this memoir ends. As a heterosexual single female who never went out to be specifically on the hunt for sex, the young gay male is a not a demographic I understand well but this is the demographic here. The memoir painted a realistic picture of how much work it takes to finally get your break if, indeed, you are lucky enough to do so. I imagine for every Andrew Rannells there are at least a dozen young men who never make it that far and have to settle for second best.
I’ve loved Andrew Rannells for as long as I can remember. When I was first introduced to Broadway he quickly became a favourite. This book was so pure and a deep insight into a life I would have never known about. I laughed, I cried. I sped through this book in two days and wish there was so much more.
One of the best books i’ve read in a while :)

There is one man I love and that man is Andrew Rannells.
I thought this book was absolutely incredible and Andrew’s writing style was amazing.
More (coherent) thoughts later!

I enjoyed the audio version of this book. For those in the theatre it's particularly fun, but even if you're not a theatre geek there's lots here to enjoy. I highly recommend the audio version as Rannells is an excellent, hilarious narrator of his life.
An enjoyable, easy weekend read that feels more like a conversation than a formal memoir.
