This series is really easy to read. The books are entertaining, the characters are likeable and believable and the hauntings satisfyingly creepy.

[b:Terminal|24514143|Terminal (Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper, #4)|J.L. Although I don't think the haunting was quite as scary as [b:The Crawling Darkness|23455114|The Crawling Darkness (Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper #3)|J.L. If you are looking for a creepy series with a kick-ass lead character, who isn't perfect and gets the job done with hard work rather than superpowers, this series is for you.

The Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper series has been a consistently amazing series, each new book brings a new ghost and a new investigation for Ellie and Stacey to solve, and Terminal is no exception.
As the cover and the title suggests, there is a haunted train in this book, but Terminal has so much more going for it than a haunted train. There is murder, deceit, robberies, and a banshee, that are all connected.

Ellie and Stacey are hired to investigate a haunted house, but what is different about this house is that it isn't one of the older houses in the area, but a newer development, only about four years old. But what was meant to be a shining, quaint, little community, quickly became a derelict place soon after the developers went bankrupt.

After being creeped out in the previous book, I went into Terminal with the idea that I would once again be scared, and although it didn't creep me out like I expected it would, Terminal definitely made me think. Trying to connect the dots, and make the connections. Why was a banshee haunting this house? What was the ghost of a man doing? and why did he lead Ellie and Stacey towards the abandoned train tracks? One aspect to the ghost hunting I really enjoyed was Hunter the dog, he finally gets in on the action and is enlisted to help find ghosts, but he is also smart to get away from danger and sleep it off.

Terminal has a great mix of spooky and humour going on to keep me entertained. I loved the one liners so much in this one and found myself laughing at a lot of them

"Okay," I said. "If anybody wants to rob the van, they're going to have to work for it."
"Maybe they'll give up and move right on to my car," Stacey muttered.
"That's the spirit! Let's get this over with."

I also enjoyed seeing Michael and Jacob work the case too, especially as Ellie has been avoiding Michael. This ghost trapping group work great together and seeing thier friendships develop over time always makes me smile.

Terminal has a uniqueness to it that the previous books don't, cases from past books are linked into this one, and I enjoyed getting to catch up with people that Ellie has helped, seeing that they are much more happier and healthier. I really liked that added little twist and how it was woven so seamlessly into the story of Terminal.

There was a point in the book where I wondered what was going on, folk defenses are set up outside and inside the house to ward of ghosts, and I had never heard of them before, so of course this meant a bit of googling had to be done. One item used is a witch ball, and I have to say they are so pretty, I would gladly hang them up for decoration alone.
Towards the end of the book Ellie is faced with another problem, but his time involving humans and not ghosts, and I am torn over what I want to happen. Both sides had good and bad reasons for doing it, so I am interested in seeing what decision is made.

As the page numbers got lower in Terminal, I had a mantra inside my head, wishing the book not to end now, especially as I thought this was the last book. But as they continued to decrease, and we still hadn't seen an old enemy of Ellie's I felt better, knowing that the author wouldn't end the series without a final showdown, because we all know there will be one at some point. My feelings were made even better with the revelation of a fifth book coming soon.

Final Verdict
Terminal is another great addition to this series, and my only problem with this book is I need the next one now.

So far, this was my least favorite of the Ellie Jordan books. It took me forever to get through. The story was kind of all over the place and boring for a lot of the book. It did pick up steam (no pun intended) towards the end, though.

I was a bit bothered by Ellie in this book. She didn't act like herself. Normally she's smart, tough, and at least a little fearless. She was none of those in this book until the end. She did several things that just weren't in line with her character.

Most of the other characters were pretty one-dimensional. There wasn't much character development in this installment.

And lastly, there were numerous errors throughout the book, both grammar and continuity errors. For instance, on one page, a character's eyes were "dark amber", then on the next page they were suddenly "sky blue". I understand mistakes happen, but there were way too many in this book.

All in all, I am glad I read it so I can continue the series. Hopefully things will improve and be more like the first three books, which I love.

This took forever to gain any traction. Only the last 50 - 75 pages were interesting.

Oops, I forgot that I needed to write a review.

I loved this book and I think it was even better than the previous ones. This series is one of my favorite. I love the characters, although Ellie can be too serious when others are trying to make a little fun when they are in the midst of ghosts or some scary situation. Oh well, that's ok, I still love the stories. This one had extra spookiness going on and it was so good to read. I can't wait to read the next one.

Love my girl Ellie. Wish she would just let herself have nice things. Also that line about Stacey hugging Michael too long... I didn't like the vibes. I hope that it's not some foreshadowing of future love triangle shenanigans and it was just Ellie realizing how much she really does care about Michael.
