Pretty cute. Very sweet most the time. Unfortunately, the story is pretty forgettable. Maybe that's ironic.
I didn't like her decision to get back with her husband. Just seemed regressive. But hey, what do I know about the minds of heterosexuals?
If it becomes a movie, though, I will be watching from the comfort of my couch.

Alice thinks she is happily in love with her husband.  They are both excited about her first pregnancy.  In reality, she is the mother of 3 and she is getting a divorce.  Alice has amnesia due to a head injury.  She has no memory of the last 10 years. As Alice tries to piece together memories, she needs to navigate lthe life of the stranger she has become.  Her journey has her looking at things in a different light.

Reading it will make you stop and think about how you've changed and what your younger self would think about where you are now.

There is a sub-story that  really resonated with me.  Alice's amnesia has her reconnecting with her sister, Elizabeth.  The story of Elizabeth is expertly woven in as she journals her thoughts and feelings for her psychiatrist.  Elizabeth's story is one of infertility- failed IVF and miscarriages.  Each loss is another heart break.  There is a scene where Elizabeth goes to the hospital to meet and hold her new nephew only days after a miscarriage. She explains the pain of it so well.

This is a definite must read.  If you are struggling with infertility, you will be able to identify with Elizabeth and everything she goes through but the main story, Alice and her memory, will keep it to very manageable pieces.
