This book starts when Lily Kitner and Ted Severson meet at an airport bar, a not-so-simple conversation between them escalates the plot. Some more characters are added to the story and we get to read the story from 4 POVs. All unreliable narrators, all flawed in their own ways. Even though we have 4 POVs the main character is definitely Lily Kitner with whom you sometimes sympathize and sometimes detest. Nonetheless, she's the type of character we readers hate to love.
The plot very smoothly transitions between past and present which helps in the character arc and is very nicely done. What I loved the most is how there was no unnecessary details provided. Everything given to the readers is to help them understand the motives and to connect the dots in the story. Oh and the end was brilliant! I laughed at the irony of it. I think it couldn't have gotten a better ending.
This book has some murder, some plotting, some dangerous sociopath characters, a lot of suspense and a lot of plot twists. Everything you need in a psychological thriller and this is one hell of a psychological thriller.
