There's so much that I've already said about this book: I love it deeply, I love the meaning behind it, I love the criticism around it, I love what it tells us about mankind and how true it still is to reality. I simply cannot believe this was written by such a young woman, and will forever be in awe of how fundamentally she changed art with this novel. It brings me great joy to understand how deeply feminism is rooted in the birth of science fiction, and I doubt it's something I will ever tire of talking about.

Wow, I mean what an Angsty read.
Did I picture Jacob Elordi as the creature this entire time, which made him a little hard to be disgusted with? yes. Did I also sympathise because of this reason? maybe.
I read this specifically in preparation for the Guillermo Del Toro adaptation but it has also been on my list for a while because of Mary Shelley's history with my home town.
I feel it was a really good mood setter for the spooky months and I really enjoyed this style of writing.
Bonus: imagining Mia Goth as Elizabeth also made it better

5/5 when Frankenstein's monster was speaking or reflecting, however the rest did not grip me as much as I anticipated. Overall a 3.5
