Themes or characters that resonated with me: I can empathize with Victor's feelings about the weight of responsibility. He doesn't handle it in a healthy way, nevertheless, there is a weight that comes with creating life. I could relate with the monster for his feeling of wanting to belong. I can understand his desire for a wife and desire for love. The feeling of not being good enough, that only another monster could love what he is.
Emotions, thoughts, or memories it brought up in me: I sympathized with the monster more than with Victor. The monster was brought into this world, innocent, without understanding. He is then abandoned without nurture or education.
Opinion about the author or writing style: The writing style was likely unique for its time. Much more refined I think when compared to something like Robinson Crusoe 100 years earlier. At the same time, it was not always easy. I really enjoyed the questions Shelley posed about creation, responsibility, belonging etc.
