- Interesting changing POVs (future / past)
- it’s difficult to follow at first, but once you get into it, it’s good
- I wish there was more main character development & exploration of her relationships with others
- nice details & flowing convos

This story has some interesting concepts that I enjoyed but the execution wasn't great. I felt that there was so much fluff that added nothing to the story. I didn't fall in love with any of the characters and found Tea to be whinny and annoying. I don't like that she thinks that she knows better than the elders around her and I hate that her terrible choices worked out. I am not a fan with how young she is and how powerful she is. It's giving Mary Sue and I am not typically a fan of Mary Sue characters. I don't foresee myself continuing the serious. Wish I would have DNF'ed.

“Not like other girls” trope.

This has been 55 pages of endless info dumping through dialogue, and I'm exhausted. Literally nothing about this feels organic to me in any way - time to move on!

It took me a bit to get into the way this book was written. It spends most of the story in the past of the main character, Tea. This part of the story I enjoyed. However, the ending of the book was lacking in that it left much unexplained. I feel that the cliffhanger of Tea going to war on the kingdom is enough to keep a reader interested without leaving so much of the backstory for later.

Still, it's a unique story with an interesting female lead. I'd be interested in reading more.
