Definitely a case of "it's not you it's me." It moves at a snails pace and everything feels overly descriptive. The world building seems interesting but it's way too many details way too fast. Not enough action or magic happening and I don't care enough about any of the characters.

Maybe I would've enjoyed this more if I'd read it myself instead of listened to the audio. The world building was good, but the narrators were.... A lot. They frequently took me out of the story by trying to do different voices that went with the situations happening. It was distracting & I listen to a lot of audiobooks, this never happens. I'll give it another chance by getting the physical, eventually.

I listened to the audio while following along in my physical copy ...

This was a re-read for me because I wanted to come back and finish reading the series.

I truly enjoyed being back in this world ... I have to be completely honest that I did not forget the important details in this story. It is one of the few that I have thought about after reading it.

The author did an amazing job creating a character like Tea 🤌🏽 Her determination and selflessness when it came to protecting the people ... and not because she felt she had to, but because she wanted to use her ability for good.

I am excited to continue this series.
