Not sure it makes the points the author thinks it makes.

It is a particularly dense book far more than you’d expect for a modern classic but I found it alright to follow even if the thesis arguments felt ill thought out at points and despite discussing witch trials several times didn’t feel like the author actually had anything knowledge on the subject.  She’s looking at the subject from a Marxist lense but it’s still clear that there are gaps.

the most fascinating thing i’ve read so far this year. the sections on the transformation of philosophy, the witch hunts and the forms of female behaviour they sought to eradicate….. incredible. and the point on the eurocentric view of the witch-hunts and how they connected to indigenous and enslaved women !!! wow. we need more feminist rewritings of history yaaasss slay (i loved this)

I was listening to this as an audiobook and I think that the combo of listening as an audiobook and the density of the material did not work. I found it very hard to understand the broad points the author was making - and I don't think I would have if i was reading a physical copy. By no means bad or uninteresting, just wasn't the correct time or method to be reading the book.
