I loved this book! The writing was so good - beautifully written. The story was full of action but was so emotional at the same time. I learned so much about giraffes and the era without ever feeling like it was a textbook. There were deep issues sprinkled throughout and I just loved it. Beautiful story that will stick with me for a long time.

This was a little meh for me. I listened to the audiobook version and really didn’t like the reader’s voice. He sounded like he was straining his vocal cords and it was very distracting. The story itself was not gripping enough to keep me from cringing at the voice. So sorry. I love giraffes and wanted to love the book, too.

An endearing story. The descriptions with the giraffes were always cute and the giraffes were both quite lovable. There were a couple of plot points that fell flat for me. Overall a cute story and a quick read. The fact giraffes really made the journey from east coast to west coast is fascinating!
A wonderful, heartwarming story that was hard to put down (except when I had to return it to the library and wait for another copy).
