this is a sequel of the book The Runaway Quilt, about Joanna a slave who was captured after running away. this continues her story of what happened to her after she was returned and sold. She has not forgotten freedom, and spoiler, she does get it. but her journey to freedom, the people she meets and what she does in between, that is the story.
A rare excellent recommendation. Read the entire book in about 1-1/2 days, because I just couldn't put it down.
At first I didn't know if I would like this book as the normal characters only make a brief appearance at the beginning and end but by the 2nd chapter I was hooked...I wanted to know what happened.
