Fun murder mystery. Sent me right back to my Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew days with its nostalgic murder mystery feel.

MY OPINION

After reading and enjoying [b:Bleeding Heart Yard|60980164|Bleeding Heart Yard (Harbinder Kaur, #3)|Elly Griffiths|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1655071269l/60980164._SX50_.jpg|93532706], I decided to go back at read #1 LOL. I bought this book awhile ago because the whole mysterieux note in a diary thing sounded JUIIICYYYY. But, buyer beware, this doesn't come into play until you're roughly 20% into the book. Good marketing play because they got me

I read the sequel to this book a long time ago, but had been put off reading this by reviews that said that it was completely unlike "The Postscript Murders". However, this book came up on sale on Kindle and I decided to give it a go.

It's true that it's very unlike the next book, and they have little in common apart from one central character. This book is also unlike any other Elly Griffiths that I've read, containing large doses of the supernatural. I don't like ghost stories or supernatural narratives, but this book pulled me in and I read it in two days.

The multiple narrators and perspectives were a great device. We see several episodes from multiple angles, and it keeps you guessing to the end. Definitely recommended.

Creepy and entertaining book set around a town where I lived for over a decade so plenty of places I know well. Harbinder is a great character, I hope there will be many more stories featuring her
