This final book about the dragonette prophecy is from the point of view of Sunny, the sandwing. She is in the mind set of a kid turning into a teenager and very annoying. Also her reasoning is that of battered woman syndrome always giving those who abuse her a pass so they can do it again and again. Then she gets upset when they think/talk badly of her so she'll do something monumentally stupid and then come crawling back when she is wrong to be abused and they cycle starts all over again. Also her ability of denial is off the charts to the point I would think she is living some fantasy life in her head and if her reality doesn't mirror it she can't accept or cope so just stays inside her own head.

Still the story itself is good. It pick up right where the last book left off with the island of the nightwings being destroyed by a volcano and everyone evacuating via a magic tunnel to the rain forest. Sunny gets kidnapped and upon freeing herself decides to follow her would be kidnappers into the sand kingdom where her egg was found. She is an inept spy. As with previous books she meets her parent and then is separated from them again. She falls right back into the villain's hands and into mortal danger. She manages to get her shit together at last and reunite with her friends and hatch a plan to stop the war.

Edit: I am 30% through this and I want to strangle Sunny! She is completely stupid, acts like a child younger then she is, has the survival instinct of a moth looking at a candle flame, no common sense and her reasoning leaves me thinking that she has no long term memory since she makes choices even with knowing how things/situations she is facing have ended for her that last time similar things faced her. The only thing is this time she has no one to rescue her soo she keeps digging herself deeper and deeper into trouble.

Oh Sunny! She finally gets a voice and she's the loudest of them all. I love that we finally get an explanation for her deformities!
