Really well told book -- Wagamese is a master storyteller. I love learning more about the Ojibway culture and about the residential school system. Also about hockey. This is a coming of age kind of book, but also so much more. I felt so much compassion for Saul -- I just wanted him to be OK. Parts were definitely heartbreaking, but there is also hope.

Wow --just wow a fantastic coming of age story of Saul Indian Horse as he is taken from his family to a residential school and finds solace in hockey until even that is taken from him. Saul must finally confront his past and learn to live in the present.
