In this hilarious first book in a new series, Nanny Piggins creator R. A. Spratt introduces Friday Barnes, a very, very smart and forthright 11 year-old girl detective. See my full review here.

If Sherlock Holmes were an 11 year old girl. I didn't really believe the blurb, but after reading it, there isn't a sentence that could sum it up better. I'm really impressed that they didn't dumb the humor down, and even I, as an 18 year old, still found the book really interesting and funny. Friday's intelligence and her uncanny luck in getting away with insulting everybody else is pretty unrealistic, but it's still a fun, quick read.

What a fun middle grade book. Same kind of sarcastic humor as the Nanny Piggins series by this author. This would also be a good read aloud.

I’ve read this a million years ago and I loved it and read the series over and over...and now a new one is out and I need to reread them. So many nostalgia rereads, so little time.

Kooky and cute This series is a sure fire winner for 8-14 yo. Totally recommend for both kids and parents!
