I've been trying to read this book since I was a kid. I'd never been able to get through the first few chapters. Finally, finally read it and I have come to the conclusion that kid!me was right - this book just sucks. Both lead characters are annoying and they never stop being grating on my nerves. New least-favorite novel just dropped.
Started this a long time ago and finally got around to finishing it. Definitely not a modern book, but I enjoyed reading one of the earlier science fiction hits!
This has to be one of my favorite all time books ever! I absolutely love it.

The characters take forever to get to the center of the Earth. When they finally get there they completely fuck over the pristine ecosystem they find there byt blowing up a wall. I was so mad when I read that.

I love the adventure aspect really much and the mysterious aspect of it. The Professor definitely is an inspiring person although a bit crazy.
