This book is like a warm hug on a cold day. It makes you smile, laugh out loud and cry all in one quick, page turning read. Laina's disappearing act on her wedding day to a famous Hollywood actor is the most reckless thing she has done since becoming a famous singer, but she realizes that she would be making the biggest mistake of her life! So Liana goes to the one person she hopes will help her, Luke Marshall, her first and only true love. She knows where the key to the house is hidden, so still in her large tulle wedding dress, she lets herself into Luke's house and waits for him. Luke allows Liana to stay as long as she needs but in return, she has to help out on the land, giving her time to evaluate what's important in life.

This is a book of love, loyalty, trust, and sizzling chemistry. Luke and Liana make you smile and you can feel yourself rooting for their second chance romance and the addition of the Marshall siblings and their group texts are hysterical!

This was a nice light read without too much unnecessary drama. Laina needs a break from her life as it has become something she did not want. She is about to get married to someone she realizes she does not want. She is pressured by her family to overwork herself and she just needs to get away from all the negativity. What better place to go than her ex's.

Luke is an absolute darling. He is a perfect gentleman. He helps her in her time of need when he doesn't need to. He stands behind and beside her when she needs him most. He is perfection.

This is a story about second chance love. Reuniting with your first love, your high school sweetheart. Choosing your own path when others are trying to force you down a different one. Overcoming obstacles and fighting for what you want. This book will give you the courage to stand up for yourself and what you want.

This Much is True (Marshall Family #2) is a small town, second chance romance.

Laina and Luke had great chemistry. I loved the connection they still felt even after years apart. The drama, banter, and sweet moments were done well. I really like the small town, family dynamics.

Lance Greenfield and Shiloh James did a really great job narrating this story.

Luke and Laina gave me everything I love in a small town, second chance romance. I couldn't get enough of this couple and the Marshall family. I love that we got to see Luke's family have his and Laina's backs. The Marshall's protect their own and Laina was always one of them.

I sat down to start reading and didn't stop until I was finished. While I wanted their story to last, I was so excited to see them get their HEA.

Laina left Peachwood Falls, and the man she loved, to follow her dreams of becoming a singing superstar. Years later, Laina's set to walk down the aisle to a man she knows will not make her happy. Que the runaway bride! Laina runs to the one place she knows she will be safe and protected, her ex boyfriend, Luke Marshall's.

Imagine Luke's surprise when he comes home to find his famous ex sitting on his couch in her wedding dress. Old feelings quickly come to the surface, secrets and lies unfold, and the two of them find themselves igniting sparks that never truly went away. Luke is not letting Laina get away this time!

The porch scene...gah! Luke was giving off major alpha vibes and I was here for it!

This Much is True was exactly as Adriana said - a hug in a book and I loved every bit of it!

Oh, Lucas Marshall, what a surprise you turned out to be! From the glimpses readers got of him in the Marshall Family series starter, More Than I Could, the twenty-seven-year-old came off as somewhat...immature. In his story, This Much Is True, Luke reminds us that one should never just a book by its cover. The farrier is now thirty (not sure if that means there was an actual three-year gap between the first two novels or if it was a miscalculation or something else) and life is as it always is in hometown of Peachwood Falls, Indiana. Most of his family is nearby, he enjoys his job, and and he likes his close-knit community. Then a blast from the past changes everything, courtesy of his ex-girlfriend breaking into his home. The same ex-girlfriend who was scheduled to be married that very same day. The very ex-girlfriend who just happens to be twenty-nine-year-old pop star Laina Kelley. In the six years since things ended between them, there hasn't been any contact; but Luke promised Laina that he would always be there for her. Now, the only girl he's ever loved is back, but can true love survive if she leaves him again?

When it comes to second chance romances, I admit that I a fair amount of groveling is a must for me. However, there was something about Luke and Laina's story that had me totally okay with the lack thereof. There also wasn't a whole lot of finger-pointing and hurling of accusations going on, which I actually appreciated since that tends to drag in unnecessary drama. I loved seeing Luke and Laina reconnect, not just as lovers but also as friends. There was also Laina's close relationship with other members of the Marshall clan, and this girl needed those pillars of support. When it comes to why she became a runaway bride, suffice it to say that her great escape was very much warranted, and I seriously liked seeing her claim her life back, professionally and personally. Just like the first book in the Marshall Family series, Adriana Locke blended the romance and humor quite nicely, and there's no denying how adept she is when it comes to small town romances. This much is true: This Much Is True gets five stars.

I love a good runaway bride story, and this one hit the spot. It was a quick and easy listen and the perfect reprieve from some of my other reading.

Laina is a popstar turned runaway bride who ended up at the house of her ex-boyfriend to avoid the public for a while. And oh, Luke, my sweet farrier. It doesn't take long for old feelings to reignite between these two, and I just absolutely loved them and their banter as they tried to figure out if things could really work between them.

I loved the found family vibes and the relationship between the Marshall siblings. The Marshalls are such a fun family, and I can't wait to read more of them!

🎧: I listened to the audio of this book, and overall I think Shiloh James and Lance Greenfield did a good job. There were some times that Lance's performance felt a bit forced, or like he was acting on a theatre stage, but he did well with Lance's humor and personality. While Shiloh's male voice wasn't my favorite, I think she did a very good job of bringing Laina to life.

𝙰𝚍𝚛𝚒𝚊𝚗𝚊 𝙻𝚘𝚌𝚔𝚎 has created another hit with this one! She has chiseled her characters beautifully and brought a beautiful second chance romance story to us. I absolutely enjoyed getting to see Laina and Luke's story unfold.

Laina. Bless her. She was a runaway bride, a famous pop star, and can only think of one person to go to. Luke is the small town farrier, hot as the dickens, and Laina's former sweetheart.

When these two meet back up, their chemistry is absolutely off the charts. The way the banter, the way their love for each shows in so many ways.....it was all a delight to see unfold!

𝐿𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝐺𝑟𝑒𝑒𝑛𝑓𝑖𝑒𝑙𝑑 did a fantastic job lending his voice to being Luke to life! I loved listening to him! And 𝑆ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑜ℎ 𝐽𝑎𝑚𝑒𝑠 breathed life into Laina, giving her all the emotions and feels! Her voice blended beautifully with 𝐿𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒'𝑠 and truly made the story pop!

If you love a captivating spicy, small town, childhood sweethearts, runaway bride, second chance romance, then you absolutely need to pick this one up. 𝙰𝚍𝚛𝚒𝚊𝚗𝚊 𝙻𝚘𝚌𝚔𝚎 is one of my favorites and she weaved a beautiful story!

The audiobook was a hoot listening .. I absolutely love the banter between Luke and his siblings and Laina!
The Narrators definitely delivered a good performance bringing us all the characters to life in this Run Away Bride story!
Shiloh James and Lance Greenfield did a pretty good together on this narration.

This Run Away Pop Star Bride story was really fun listening . This was my first book by Author Adriana Locke and yes I really did enjoyed it.
I was laughing and swooning during this story.

Laina and Luke were each other's first for almost everything, when they broke up, Years later Laina finds herself in a situation that she can’t go through with, but with nowhere else left, she runs back to the one person she has always felt safe with and knew she can always count on no matter how many years time has passed between them.

Luke.
Luke Marshall returns home to find the woman he let go the one woman who is the one for him, his soulmate, whom he hasn’t seen in years has returned to not only their small town home, but also to his house he is Shocked but low key happy that he will do just about anything to make sure she doesn’t leave him again.

Laina
Laina ran away before she could teach the altar, now the media is coming for her and all she can think about is getting away from them, from everything to Somewhere safe.
Safe is with the only person she knows she can trust,
While huddled away in hiding, the media firestorm is raging away outside just waiting for Laina to make her appearance about her hasty escape from her impending nuptials. But none of that seems to even matter as being back together in the same place just brings past feelings back and even stronger, and before they know it, they are a happy couple.

Picking up right back up where they left off as if no time have passed since they separated, Luke was just excited that the one woman who he knows is the one for him, his soulmate, whom he hasn’t seen in years has returned, but also to his house. He was so happy that he will do just about anything to make sure she doesn’t leave him again.

But can Laina and Luke get the HEA that they so desperately desire? Can they make this time work for them as they try to navigate her hectic life?
Or Will her obnoxious father and Ex drag her back to the life she ran away from?
Will the second time around be better than the first?

I absolutely adore this Second Chance story with its bit of drama tons of Banter and family Shenanigans!
And Lordy there’s plenty of good brotherly and sisterly banter with belly laughs moments!
Luke and his brothers and only sister are the highlight of this book for me, they are just so much fun when they are together texting or chatting!

Definitely recommend reading/listening this audiobook 🎧📚

Who doesn’t love a good runaway bride story? Shiloh James and Lance Greenfield did a wonderful job bringing Luke and Laina’s second chance love journey to life. Luke is the ultimate cinnamon roll. He’s the kind of guy you want in your corner. He can push your buttons but also make you laugh and feel sexy. I connected with Laina from the start. She’s strong and determined and surrounded by people trying to snuff out her success and happiness. This was an enjoyable listen.
