I suppose this is good for its intended audience, but I don't think I'm part of it. I wasn't a fan of the ending. Still, a solid read for what it is.

Teenaged dragon-shifters with telepathic abilities. Which adolescent wouldn't want to be like them? But life intrudes on a potentially idyllic existence and the sheer enjoyment of flight rapidly takes a turn for the worse. How do you hide your alternate existence from your classmates, much less from the administration? And what happens when the administrators decide to make an example of you? The story leaves a lot of questions; hopefully the first novel will answer at least half of them.

I recieved a free prologue chapter as an intro into The Draki Twins, taking place before the events of the first book.
This introduces us to the twins, Zephyr and Dante, and gives us a brief view of what sort of characters they are.

As far as prologues go; I already love the world Mueller and Ponder have set up.
We follow the beginning of the story of two brothers, twins presumably, who are dragon-shifters. Humans born with the innate ability to shapeshift into dragons of various colours, as well as having corresponding powers related to their scale colour.
The world is very quickly revealed to have various shape-shifting communities, dragons just being a small subsect of this and can I say that I LOVE this set up. It's something 15 year old me WISHES she had to sink her teeth into.
Having a modern world in which shifters, especially dragons ones, exist alongside humans is something I have not seen before and didn't know I needed! While the story and dialog is a bit YA for my liking, the endearing characters and brief glimpses of world building definitely drew me in to what little I've read.
The set up of secret shifter society VS long hidden society of wizards is one I can see myself enjoying immensely.

I'd definitely love to see more of these characters and world.
