This is shockingly my first read of anything Sylvia Plath! I didn’t know much  about her but how amazing her work was. So going in blind it was still very intriguing and a wonderful allegory.. after looking into her bio and the info on this book it adds so many layers to it.

Weirdly enough, this was my first time reading Sylvia Plath. Mary Ventura and the Ninth Kingdom is a striking short story that was rejected (!) by a magazine in 1952, when Plath was still a student. Two years later, the story was revised. This is the first, unedited version, published for the first time.

Eerie and sinister yet gentle and reassuring at the same time. I liked it a lot!
