A light cute romance. Liked it fine, but the end kind of dragged a bit and I ended up skimming the last few chapters.

that was delightful

I have really loved this series and this latest installment was no exception! The subversion of Regency tropes, chance to see old characters, and relationship between Emily and Julian all made for a wonderful read. I'm not sure if I just missed it, but it didn't seem like there was a lot of tension or buildup toward the eventual conflict and resolution - in my reading it just kind of happened out of nowhere. But, it was still an enjoyable read!

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for providing an eARC of this title in exchange for an honest review!

This book cemented me as a big Martha Waters fan. I have enjoyed all three books in this series so much. This book is a funny, entertaining, and quick read. Both of the main characters were easy to root for, and the romance was sweet, without unnecessary conflicts or miscommunication, and there were some good steamy scenes.

A little too cutesy for my taste, Cecil Lucifer was the best part (and also too cutesy).
emotional funny inspiring medium-paced

For sure didn't love this as much as the previous book in the series. Yes I said book because I read the second one last year and didn't realize it was book #2. I have a gift for that.
