It took me a lot of time to finish this book, partially because lack of time but also because I found the story a bit confusing. I got to the end of the book with really understanding how all the parts of the plot were connected.

A bit hard to follow, similar to the other books, but it was good.

As a thriller in its own right it is quite enjoyable. Compared to the original trilogy it's shit.
A little bit disappointed but how could you hope to write Part 4 of one of the best literary trilogies ever? Respect for trying but you failed. Shame.

As the new school year starts, so too does my audiobook listening.
A friend of mine said this book was bad and shouldn't be associated with the original trilogy, but I actually didn't mind it. I found their case to be interesting, but was a little annoyed at how forced some of the character connections felt. OF COURSE the NSA was monitoring the person who Lisbeth was looking into who contacted Mikael...etc etc.
However...

***spoilers***

I am glad we finally got to meet Camilla. Again, it did feel a little forced like all of the other connections, but that question has been looming since #2.
I'm interested to see where this all goes in #5.

Definitely not as good as the ones written by Larrson, but I'm kind of addicted to the series so I'll finish it.

Even with the new author the series remains interesting because of the storytelling and the protagonists.

I must say this book was super boring. I didn't have high hopes since this awesome series was being continued (why?) by a new author (why?). The series was great as it was and definitely didn't need to be continued. However, I wanted to see what one of my favorite characters Lisbeth would get up to. Well she didn't get up to much, and even her parts (the most exciting sure) were boring. A lot of it dragged on and was over my head. I lost interest by halfway through and continued just to get it over with. It looks like there was a loose ending, but I WILL NOT read anymore of these.

While it's not a great book, it was so nice to hang out for a while with Salander and Blomkvist again for a new story. The crime and following action were compelling and fun enough, though the story really just made me want to re-read the trilogy. It's worth reading if you loved the trilogy and are okay with a weird alternative origin story about Salander's hacker handle.
