I was able to read this book in one sitting. There was a good amount of action, danger, and suspense.
The bad guys were kind of obvious. I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong about one of them. I had a number of "edge of my seat" moments that made the book more enjoyable. I did like that Allegra toughed it out during the journey they had to take.
The last chapter with Xavier and Allegra didn't do much for me. Something about it felt unfinished. I think I wanted some type of epilogue.
