The first 3/4 of this book were entertaining, the last two chapters fell short for me. Also, not a huge fan of the comedic standup aspect of some of Southon’s writing.

The anecdotes are fascinating, but the flippant tone and attempts at humor distract from the text instead of enhancing it. I’d like it more without so much swearing, author asides, and “clever” pop culture references.

It ended up being darker than I expected. I struggled to identify the tone of the writing, and it didn’t always feel like it was appropriate writing style for the content.
