I had not read a Dune novel in many years, but decided to give this one a shot with the new movie version coming next year. Brian Herbert and Kevin Anderson have done an admirable job of emulating the style of Frank Herbert, although sometimes the realistic pomposity is over the top...not that Frank's was not also on occasion. I really enjoyed exploring the origin stories of Duke Leto and the Padishah Emperor, and I look forward to learning more in the rest of this series. Recommended for fans of Dune.

Perchè si prosegue nell'opera di distruzione di una delle saghe più belle della letteratura contemporanea? Dune andava bene così come l'aveva scritta Herbert padre. Non vale la carta su cui è stampato.

Very fun to get to explore the time before Paul and read about Leto, I think my opinion of this one will evolve as I work through the prequels.

It was good, but for some reason I had a hard time finishing it.
