I really really enjoyed this book. I just felt like I wanted something a bit more? I didn't see all of the twists coming
(like Kenzie being her son)
, but that didn't make it feel less compelling. I felt like the letters she did or didn't leave for herself could've been done better or handled better? I felt like the writing around those seemed like an odd thing that the writer used just to try to make the plot happen. That being said, this book made me feel things and tear up, especially
when Madeline was dying.
Def a recommended read!

I loved this fun take on time travel—like The Time Traveler's Wife meets Sliding Doors meets One Last Stop, maybe? Oona's journey was difficult and confusing for her, but it was also uplifting. She made lots of choices I don't think I would have, but that made it so much more interesting to me! The twists also kept it engaging throughout, and I think it ended at exactly the right moment. Hugely recommend!

I wasn't sure if I would get along with this novel, but I loved it. The concept of living life out of order was so intriguing to me, and Montimore did fantastic job of keeping me interested throughout the entire novel. I didn't expect
Oona to be Kenzie's mum
, but in the end, it was a nice plot twist. I can't wait to read it again.

This was a book with a lot of tell, not show. In some ways, I feel the author set an impossible challenge for herself. Two main challenges:
- how were we supposed to “root” for Oona to get back to her boyfriend when we really just had to take her word for it that they had this great love?
- each chapter was meant to be a whole year and had to quickly become a montage in order to fit that much time into a short space.
