Audio, 2021. I was struck this time by how episodic this book is, compared to what came before. There's just so much going on. Looking forward to reading some commentary on it after I finish the series again.

I’m getting tired of these books and will take a break. I thought this one was over halfway through and could not really pay attention/follow the rest of the book.
Very fitting to reach the end of this journey after much voyaging myself over the past few weeks.
I will never let go of the sublime image of a sea sweet to taste, covered in floating pale lilies.
Caspian and Ramandu's daughter are a power couple. <3

After reading the first four books in The Chronicles of Narnia series, I took a two-year hiatus before picking up The Voyage of The Dawn Treader by C.S. Lewis.
The plot follows the Pevensie children and their cousin Eustace, who return to Narnia to search for lost Lords and embark on a mystical journey.
While the premise showed promise, the execution fell short with shallow characterization and inconsistent pacing. The journey lacked excitement and failed to connect with the readers.
Though the first two movie adaptations were my favorites, this book made continuing the series seem unworthy without the presence of Peter and Susan.
C.S. Lewis hinted at more adventures, but my enthusiasm for the series has waned.
