The ending, the ending, the ending!

 This has to be the first Charles dickens novel I've read since Christmas Carol and *that* was in 5th grade. So well, ngl I felt so dense while reading probably because I haven't read any old classics since forever. I thought there was waaay too much lambification in the beginning but it got interesting as soon as the girl and the old lady's house came along. It got kinda interesting when the boy inherited the huge fortune and he became a posh London boy. I honestly kinda hated him when he felt ashamed where he came from. The biggest plot came in the middle, I won't reveal what it was but I never ever ever could have expected it. And he didn't get the girl at the end who was the reason he became so posh and all so yeah karma I suppose. Honestly it was an okay classic. Not that gripping so ima give it a 6/10

This is one of those classics I've been meaning to read for years, and finally did it. It's also my first Dickens novel! It took me a while to get into, and then I took a break to read A Brief History of Seven Killings. Really it wasn't until the last third of the book that I started to enjoy it. Overall, pretty good, but not my favourite classic by any means.

~~~~~I Was Disappointed~~~~~
I really am fond of Charles Dickens' writing. But this beloved novel was so long.
From the first pages, I realized how many description is used. The character is very introspective and it really becomes a difficulty for the reader. At some points, the dilemma that Pip is accompanied by throughout the novel, it gets so boring that you want to get to the point faster.
I really appreciate how the dialogue between the characters is so complex and pompous, but I wanted to know more about them, to understand what's their personalities, thinking, what are they feeling. In that case, the novel is indeed a self helping book for Pip and a journal (somehow).
In the other hand, I was shocked that Estella was built so cruel, so loveless and feelingless in this novel. At this point, you fell pity for Pip, because she was unable to love other than herself.
Pip is a simple character. Once having the chance to become a gentleman, he realize how inconvenient was his attitude towards Joe and Biddy.
Finally, it's a novel that teaches us that happiness is not in money, title and lifestyle or what do you do for a living. It's about love, family, help, goodness, generosity, forgiveness and self-discovery and self-appreciation.
