the feeling of otherness that is captured here is literally i describable. i really did love this book. it is just dripping with atmosphere and you really feel this alienation that the narrator is experiencing. very well written. amazing symbolism too.

there was an eeriness that was woven into the voice of this main character who lacked confidence and independence, nearing the end this grew but I was ultimately left a little disappointed with the ending. I was hoping for something a little more revealing or even just sinister as it had been building up to.
