4.15 AVERAGE

Really great non-fiction graphic novel that illustrates different genders and gender identities. Very inclusive and eye opening to how different cultures express or use gender for different reasons.

I was approved on NetGalley for this book.

Gender IS Really Strange. A comprehensive easy to understand graphic novel how the social construct of gender came to be and how inaccurate it is. Scientific in it's writing, but easily understood. A great graphic novel for readers who are questioning or those who just want to learn more.

DID NOT FINISH

The ebook was too small on my phone to read comfortably. I do think this book has valuable info, I think I just chose the wrong format. I'll try to find a physical copy & give that a read
informative

This was good! But maybe not as an intro if you aren’t familliar with academic or social Justice language?

I was looking for something to give my parents that would be easily digestible for them and I don’t think this is it. I feel like they’d tell me they didn’t understand half of it.

Both my middle schooler and I agree that this is a fantastic discussion of gender, what it means, and what it doesn't mean. It's presented in an easy, fun, inclusive way that is accessible to folks of all ages. Highly recommended.

*I received an electronic ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.*

Not what I was expecting but was father informational and a good starting off point for research and learning more about gender non conforming and how all of it is dumb.
informative reflective fast-paced

This book has some interesting facts, and I learnt a few new things while reading it, but while it's quite short I had a really hard time focusing on it. I'm not a huge fan of how corporate the art style is, and the writing style struggles between too much medical jargon and too many explanation points. There were also times when the panel work on pages was confusing and I had no idea which text block I was suppose to read next, and the font choice is also absolutely tiny and pretty difficult to read - which did not help my focus at all.
