Not my favourite, it was well writen but I didn't realy get on with the charaters, they seemed very one dimentional to me. I didn't like Luna, she just annoyed me, I kinda wished she had died in the final battle.

Bless Your Heart by Lindy Ryan is a haunting Southern Gothic tale that explores the weight of family secrets and the bonds that hold mothers and daughters together. Set against the rich, eerie backdrop of the South, this story dives into generational trauma and the complex relationships between mothers and daughters. The dark atmosphere, lyrical writing, and emotional depth make it a captivating read for fans of moody, character-driven stories.

Its funny because the synopsis stated there would be vampires, or at least it named them "Stragori" butt the creatures were more like ghouls... & to me ghouls are scary, butt dumb, so the build up & tension associated with the gruesume various deaths was kind of at odds with how i was picturing the story in my head.
Actually, the whole story was like that, the tension was great! Except nobody was doing anything about it, just worrying about whether or not someone else would figure out what had happened years ago.
There were multiple POVs: Luna, the youngest Evans, is just learning the truth of her family & their ungrateful role in taking care of the undead. Her mother, Grace, who grew up similarly clueless & caused her daughter to be clueless as well. Lenore, both trying to rebuild their lost knowledge, yet still traditionally inept at moving on from the past. Dulsey, who is smart, tough, hilarious, & unwilling to change the way Evans learn their fate or role... I guess all families have issues.
I will say, the action doesn't happen til the last chapter & Luna actually created the whole mess because her family refused to tell her anything her whole life.
Hopefully, the series adapts & learns to move forward differently. Although, with the amount of gore the Stregori created, I don't know how this Sleepy town will remain unknown.
