A pretty good read.

Four generations of women run the funeral home in a little southeast Texas town. Their job is to bury bodies...and make sure they stay buried. A is year old secret, the undead and vampires make difficult. Sort of a "Designing Women" (ifkyk) meets "Buffy the Vampire Slayer".

I would rate it a little bit under a 4 but it definitely deserves a round-up

Soooo steel magnolias meets true blood meets Buffy? Sounds odd but it works! 4 generations of women in a southern family run a funeral home…. AND MAKE SURE THE DEAD STAY DEAD!
I really enjoyed the hot and muggy southern summer vibe, the relationship between the women in the family, and the spooky vibe to this book.
However, I found the storyline a bit unoriginal and pretty predictable. That being said, I still enjoyed the hell out of it.
3.5/5 stars. Would recommend to anyone who wants a quick and easy spooky season read that isn’t really all that scary but is definitely gruesome. lol.

The murders were really graphic and getting more so. I wasn’t interested in reading about it.

The mystery was honestly so boring and I didn’t love any characters and there wasn’t great internal consistency with the supernatural rules.
