9 From the Nine Worlds is a collection of short stories set in the Riordanverse. More specifically, in the Magnus Chase universe. Each story is told by a different characters from the Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard series, and set in a different World; some we've visited in the series, like Asgard and Alfheim, and some we haven't, like Muspelheim.

The stories are set after the official series so it contains spoilers. And besides, you wouldn't want to read about the adventures of characters you don't know. This book has a story featuring them all, plus Odin. Only person missing is Magnus himself but I'm guessing, since he got an entire series, it's okay for him him to sit out this one book. Though I can't help but think that, were this a story about the Greek characters and Percy had been left out, I would definitely mind. But that's Percy, you know. You can never have enough of him.

Anyway, the stories are pretty short and non-serious. Sure, the characters get in trouble and have to find their way out. But things get resolved without much death and destruction. It's mainly just a fun way (it's Rick Riordan, of course it's fun) to revisit the characters and see how they're doing, and get a glimpse into their everyday, not-under-the-threat-of-Ragnarok lives.

The best part though, was Thor. See, these stories are set in a short period of time and happen to follow the order in which Thor jogs through the nine realms. Yeah, jogs. He wants to get 10 million footsteps so that he can get a cameo on a Midgard TV show, so he's jogging through all the realms wearing nothing but a pair of short-shorts, unaware of everything going on around him. It's a really cool way to connect the stories and add continuity, plus it's hilarious.

So if you loved the Magnus Chase series and want a few more adventures with the characters, I would definitely recommend reading this book.
