Unfortunately, I couldn't quite finish this. I think the best description for it would be "unpleasant" and the twists in the short stories did not make up for it. Difficult subject matter is all well and good but I think there ultimately needs to be a point to it even if it just makes you think about a new scenario. I was not inspired to do that with what I read of this book.

The art style isn't my favorite, but there's definitely something eerie about each of the stories. Gaiman is definitely at home in his wheelhouse, he really knows how to create tension and reel you in.
Graphic: Animal death and Animal cruelty
Moderate: Sexual content, Torture, Toxic relationship, Gore, Confinement, Alcohol, and Death
Minor: Suicide

I liked the illustrations a lot, but the stories were quite odd, but what did I expect?
