I teach a year-long memoir workshop and we read both Darin Strauss's earlier memoir and The Queen of Tuesday. The class loved each book for different reasons, but they thought The Queen of Tuesday was a thoroughly entertaining blend of memoir and fiction, showing that you can play with genre to create an original and compelling narrative. Plus, who doesn't love Lucille Ball?

This is written so weirdly, I couldn’t follow it. And mostly about Lucy’s extramarital affairs which I really don’t need to know about!

I did not enjoy the writing style at all. I was so looking forward to this, but I am seriously disappointed.
