This book skips ahead from Anne's House of Dreams, and shows Anne and Gilbert's life together with their children, along with snippets following the adventures, misfortunes, and learnings of her children growing up. While this book was sweet, it felt like it bounced around too much and was lacking the deep and quickly characterizations that so distinguish L. M. Montgomery's earlier novels. I found this one a bit of a slog to get through, but it was still charming, and had some insightful lines and musings. I do wish there had been much more Anne, though!

This instalment of the series was alright. there was nothing that really made me excited to read the next chapter but i did enjoy a lot of the stories that were told about anne and the children.

It's not my favorite of the series, but it's still wonderful. I feel like i got to watch the full circle of Anne. Dreams, love, imagination, hurt, and friendship.

I don't remember disliking any of the Anne books but this one was a mixed bag. Some great stories of Anne's children and some nice moments about her marriage and reflections on her children...but also felt disjointed and like I could slim over much of it. Lots of snippets and ellipses.
