Feels just like a sleazy slasher film— but in a good way. Cheesy, but in a good way.
The romance was… an element. It didn’t really… serve the plot in the grand scheme of things and kind of irritated me at times but I liked the book other than that. The sudden shifts between murder and danger to “I know I almost just died but will you be my g-g-g-girlfriend…..

When Plum Winter steals her influencer sister's invitation to an exclusive music festival, she thinks this will be the opportunity of a lifetime. But arriving at the festival with her best friends Marlowe and Sofia, they aren't expecting a rundown villa on a deserted island with only 7 other people. And then the murders start..
I really enjoyed the premise of this book. If you know me, you know I love a mystery thriller set in an isolated location with an unlikeable cast of characters who are picked off one by one. Add in some social commentary on the 'influencer' generation and a parody of the disastrous Fyre Festival and I was sold.
While it was enjoyable book, I didn't like the ending and the reveal of the murderer. Maybe I was expecting a big conspiracy and some big conclusion and maybe expecting too much. But it was still an okay read and very fast-paced.

DNF. 10% in and they're still standing at the curb of an airport, waiting for an Uber. The MC is annoying me too, so nah.
