I DNF'd this book. Honestly I could not get into the main character and her personality. Maybe this book is for someone else, but it isn't for me.

A great story with unpredictable twists and turns. Definitely entertaining and worth a read.

I'm on the fence about this one. I couldn't stop reading it because I was sucked in by the train wreck of a main character and wondering what her secret was. It caught me off guard and made me feel sick. But sometimes that's what authors are supposed to do: make you have a visceral reaction to the story.

The movie actually did a pretty good job of capturing this story. This book is full of triggers and was more crude than I like but I found it compelling, even more so after reading the afterword.

It’s so hard to get into the main character. She’s terrible. And she’s terrible even though we see the trauma she goes through. But halfway through, when we get her backstory, her behavior is less terrible. It’s not that we feel more sympathy for her. It’s that the narrative voice changes.

However, I never feel like she connects to… anyone. And also, teacher student stuff squicks me out. Just a personal quibble.
