If you haven't read anything by James Lee Burke I am both envious and smug at the same time. My favourite writer in any genre by a mile.
3.5. Dave Robicheaux and Clete Purcel in Montana, which was fine but I miss New Iberia ard New Orleans. As always I love Lames Lee Burke. I will read every Robicheaux book that comes out :).
In this book, Clete Purcell, Dave Robicheaux's best friend, takes center stage. Clete's demons are coming at him thick and fast, and no book in the series as clearly delineates the intricacies of the connections between Dave and Clete as this one does. There is not much of a way to review this book without giving away the ending, but suffice it to say that along the way to getting there, some damn fine writing occurs.
Way too violent, So much male on male rape it was hard to read. Didn't like it at all.
i'm a huge fan of the dave robicheaux books. this one didn't disappoint. i like the ones in new iberia better but i suppose you can only tell so many crime stories about a smaller city in louisiana.
