Road Trip!

Beth Reekles

3.28 AVERAGE

"The Kissing Booth: Road Trip" by Beth Reekles is a contemporary romance novel that follows the genre's classic tropes of friendship, love triangles, and coming-of-age themes. In this installment, Elle, Lee, and Noah navigate the challenges of their relationships while embarking on a road trip, a trope often used to symbolize personal growth and adventure. While the plot may adhere to some predictable elements common in romance novels, Reekles infuses the story with humor, heart, and relatable characters, making it a satisfying read for fans of the genre. Overall, "The Kissing Booth: Road Trip" delivers on its promise of romance, friendship, and self-discovery within the framework of a classic road trip narrative.

3.5/5 stars.

Gosh I love TKB series because they are such fun summer reads. When I saw there was a short book about Elle and Lee's road trip back east to visit Rachel and Noah, I knew I needed to read it ASAP, but I wanted more. This easily could have been made into it's own little novel and I am so sad it wasn't. It flew by and had such little detail that I kept hoping there was just one more chapter. I just need one more chapter.

I'd definitely say pick it up if you are a fan of The Kissing Booth series, but don't expect much as it doesn't leave the tip of the iceberg.

The book was decent. It was just a fluffy romance that didn't take too much effort and was pretty fun. It was just a really easy-going road-trip story about friends and finding the main character's boyfriend in college.

But, not a lot happened - there isn't much plot. Personally, I'd have liked it more if more things happened in it. I understand that it is only 100 pages of actual story, but most of it was just taken up with describing the journey and not a lot actually happened.

But, it was a fun story and I guess that I had a good time.

This is a great quick read and was a good storyline and development of their relationships

I was shocked that I enjoyed this novella so much. The first two novels and the previous novella of the series had me wanting my time back, but this one was much better. The writing, while still very bland and lacking, was forgiveable, as the plot and overall story were enjoyable to imagine. Who doesn't love a good road trip story. The characters were less self-involved, and I really enjoyed getting to see Lee and Elle expand their friendship. Fast-paced, quick read, unfortunately it's not a standalone novella. You do need to read at least the first two books in the series to really appreciate this one.

Overall, I didn’t really enjoy this. I’m disappointed and I wish I had but it easily could’ve been part of the previous book. I wish we would have seen more of the road trip and saw Elle and Lee explore more than they did.
