A more arrogant main character for me would be hard to find. I finished only because it was for book club.
Called the arsonist early on. Not sure if that’s good or bad.

This is a really fun premise but kind of pretty basic when it comes to the writing/plot.

What an absolute waste of time. The mystery was predictable at best, the spin at the end was stupid and unnecessarily dark. Way too much bible in it, even for a book with a nun MC. Hated it.

If this book is anything, it’s absolutely unique with a colourful yet dark New Orleans setting and a bad ass, punk, queer nun/super sleuth as our protagonist.

However, as with most whodunnits, there was a LOT of characters which I found a
real struggle. And as excellent a character as Sister Holiday is, unfortunately this story just didn’t grab me. At the end of the day, I think this is all down to personal preference. If you love a wee whodunnit with a difference I absolutely recommend picking this up. This just wasn’t my cup of Sister Honours special brew.

this was without a doubt my least favourite read of the year so far. CRINGE CRINGE CRINGE. cliched writing, BIZARRE plot (not in a good way) so many unexplored tensions, plot lines and characters that felt like cartoons. plus some outright RIDICULOUS moments that i just thought were soooo silly. i powered on through and honestly wish i hadn’t.
